We are using OneNote as our conference platform for sharing (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220116194133\/http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/MTIonenote\">http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/MTIonenote<\/a>\u00a0) and the notebook is\u00a0Montgomery County Technology Integrator\u2019s Group.<\/p>\n<p>Step one setting up the sessions. \u00a0We will be doing 4 sessions today. \u00a0People come up to the board and propose sessions. \u00a0I proposed two. \u00a0I would like Computer Science to become a Math Credit in PA and I would like to talk about blended schools. We discussed the history of Technology in schools Starting with the film strip and Scantron to whiteboards and tablet computes. What does this mean for us?? Professional Development is Necessary!!! Follow the law of two feet. \u00a0If you don\u2019t find your learning or contributing use your two feet and go someplace else.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Session 1: \u00a0\u201c20% time in the classroom\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Google gives their employees 20% of their work time to create anything they want. \u00a0Half of Google\u2019s projects have come from this starts. \u00a0Our facilitator,<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220116194133\/http:\/\/educationismylife.com\/author\/admin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AJ Julian<\/a>i, @ajjuliani writes about it in this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220116194133\/http:\/\/educationismylife.com\/the-20-project-like-google-in-my-class\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog post\u00a0<\/a>. His school has adopted this idea and has added to the curriculum. It lives in the RLA curriculum focusing on the standards\u00a0specifically Pennsylvania 11th Grade Reading and Writing Standards. Question: How does this move into a more specific field like Math? AppearIn does have some issues with iOS. It requires no accounts and can host up to 8 people. \u00a0However we decided that using Google hangout is a better service even though it requires some kind of Google account (does not require Google+)<\/p>\n<p>Session 4 Blended Schools:<\/p>\n<p>We discussed how to used Course management software to create a blended classroom or a Flipped classroom. We discussed the troubles of choosing the right LMS system. We talked about training and the difficulties presented in unblocking sites. \u00a0One conclusion we came to is the blocking or unblocking of sites is often the product of classroom management. \u00a0Technology requires new classroom management skill sets and often professional development to create the best practices.<\/p>\n<p>Summary:<\/p>\n<p>We ended the day with a \u201cbest thing I learned session\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to all who participated.
