{"id":62,"date":"2013-10-11T20:38:21","date_gmt":"2013-10-11T20:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mrmclaughlin.com\/web\/?p=62"},"modified":"2022-11-21T20:58:53","modified_gmt":"2022-11-21T20:58:53","slug":"lets-get-it-started-again-10-11-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mrmclaughlin.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/11\/lets-get-it-started-again-10-11-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Let\u2019s Get it started again 10\/11\/2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello to all readers of the DEN Techformation blog series. \u00a0We had a good run for a while and then took a bit of a break. \u00a0Let\u2019s jump back in and get stated again. \u00a0What do you think? \u00a0 If you are interested in writing a post in the DEN Techformation series let me know by commenting on this post. \u00a0I will set up a schedule. \u00a0In the mean time here is one to get us started. \u00a0I have been working with students on marking period portfolios. \u00a0To do this I have been using Dropbox. \u00a0I have taken student classwork, homework, tests and quizzes and scanned them into the computer (OK truth be told our district copy service does it for me) I then file them digitally into student folders which syncs up with Dropbox. \u00a0The students and parents then have access to the folders at any time using a share link. \u00a0The wonderful thing about this is the students and parents don\u2019t have to have an account. \u00a0I just email out the link to them. \u00a0I have created a outline for them to follow when they put their marking period portfolio together. \u00a0 (see below) Another great way to do this is with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210420172121\/http:\/\/mediashare.discoveryeducation.com\/mediashare\/index.cfm?event=pushFile&amp;guidAssetMediaFileId=c54d6b6d-fe50-0945-d164-bf2915fe8449\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Discovery Student boards<\/a>\u00a0Students can use this to include Discovery Content as well as their own documents. \u00a0This will let them build dynamic online portfolios. \u00a0If your interested and needs some help getting started drop me a comment and I can help.<\/p>\n<p>I hope to hear from you all soon\u2026New blog post will go up weekly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<header>\n<h1><\/h1>\n<h1><\/h1>\n<h1>Quarter One Portfoilio<\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Follow the directions to build your portfolio.
